15 Weeks - In the second trimester now!

Baby info!
Yep, we are now in our second trimester, and I just can't believe it! I've been feeling better, but still have some bouts with morning sickness. Overall, the nausea is getting better, and I am starting to get some energy back. I still haven't felt the baby move yet, but I am guessing that part will be coming soon. Our next appointment is next week, and then we should have our next ultrasound the beginning of October sometime. I am really excited for our next ultra because we should be able to find out if this baby is a boy or a girl (as long as he/she cooperates and isn't too modest!) It will be nice to call the baby "he or she", instead of "it"!! We are working to get the basement finished, so we can move our office down there and be able to get the baby's room empty. Since I have a terribly sensitive sense of smell (even before I was pregnant, but now it is even worse), I haven't been able to help paint. Luckily, we've had a lot of gracious helpers to help Ben paint. The walls were done a couple weeks ago and basement floor was painted this weekend. It really looks good. We will let the floor cure for a week, and then get moving. Of course, I am using the word "we" very loosely! ;-) Thanks Mom, Dad, Mom, Dad, and John!!!
Other info!!
School is going pretty well. My students are doing pretty well, other than the few that are a little more challenging. I am already behind on grading my writing papers, but I guess that is every year I have been teaching! hehehe I still haven't told the kids about the baby, but I probably will after our next ultrasound. At church yesterday, some of the ladies who were talking to me were surprised I am still teaching. It made me think! Just because I'm pregnant, doesn't mean I am unable to work! I think my only worry about working to my due date is actually going into labor at school. I guess that will be out of my control and totally up to the baby!!
In other parts of our life, we got some bad news about our dog, Dusty. She was limping after a session of chasing the cat! Well, after a trip to the vet, we found out she tore her ACL in her knee (like a football player!) and needs surgery to correct it. And to top it off, her allergies are even worse, and she is starting to lose her hair!! My poor dog! She is getting kinda old, 10 years, and has been on steroids for a while (which can shorten a dog's life). We are in that hard place of trying to decide if paying over $1000 for surgery on a dog that may not make it through surgery is the best decision! We've got about a week to decide if she has the surgery or not. She is on anti-inflammatory pills with a pain killer, and after she has a pill she walks pretty well. I don't know what to do, but hopefully we will make the right decision for us and our doggie! Ugh!

You and I have the same due date! That is really cool.

My dog tore her cruciate ligament as well and I would said no to the surgery. The recovery is difficult and they have to practically live in their crate 24/7 to reduce the risk of injury. Their quality of life is not greatly improved by it either. Also, they start to use the other leg more because of the surgery and so that increases your risk of the dog tearing the other leg's ligament. Then they usually have to take medicine because the surgery can cause arthritis so you end up using the pain meds anyway. I did alot of research on all of this before I made a decision. Just thought I'd share.
